Academicians of the Canadian Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences came to the new material!
On November 4, Cheng Yufeng, academician of the Canadian Academy of Sciences and tenured professor of the University of Calgary, Ding Liping, secretary of the party group and chairman of the Haiyan County Association for Science and Technology, Gu Chenyi, deputy director of the Organization Department of the Haiyan County Party Committee and full-time deputy director of the Talent Office of the Haiyan County Party Committee, Yu Jianyun, deputy secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Haiyan County Comprehensive Administrative Law Enforcement Bureau, Xu Qijie, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the trade union of Baibu Economic Development Zone (Baibu Town), Wu Chenkai, deputy director of the Baibu Town Economic Service Center, and other people visited the new material, and Wu Liyang, the general manager, accompanied the reception.
Academician Cheng and his entourage first visited the new material production workshop and had an in-depth understanding of the product-related situation, mainly covering the materials, processes, and properties of the new material products. At the workshop site, Mr. Wu introduced the company's production process, technology research and development, product specifications, market sales and other conditions to Academician Cheng in detail.
Academician Cheng has long been engaged in the research of materials science, electrochemical corrosion and structural integrity of hydrogen, carbon dioxide and natural gas pipelines, and this visit to New Materials aims to investigate whether it can carry out cooperation and provide technical support for the development of new energy, new materials and hydrogen energy safety. After returning to the conference room, the two sides further discussed the innovative application and future layout strategy in the field of new product research and development, and jointly looked forward to the broad prospects of new energy in promoting product innovation and industrial upgrading.
Cheng Yufeng graduated from Hunan University in 1990 with a bachelor's degree in metal corrosion and protection (now the Department of Applied Chemistry), graduated from the Institute of Metal Corrosion and Protection of the Chinese Academy of Sciences with a master's degree in 1993, studied at the University of Alberta, Canada in 1996, and obtained a doctorate degree in materials engineering in 1999. He is currently a tenured professor at the University of Calgary, director of the Center for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing, and a chief scientist and distinguished materials scientist in the field of energy pipelines in Canada. Currently, he is mainly engaged in materials science, electrochemical corrosion and structural integrity research for hydrogen, carbon dioxide and natural gas pipelines. Cheng Yufeng has been elected as a member of the Royal Society of Canada and a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering for his pioneering research achievements in the fields of electrochemical corrosion science and materials science of energy pipelines and his great international influence.
